Excel error: code execution has been interrupted
By Fritz Barnes
I recently started getting many, many occurrrences of the message "code execution has been interrupted" when running Excel macros. The message is exactly the same as if I had pressed Ctrl-Break to halt macro execution, for example, if I wanted to enter Debug mode. But I was getting this message spontaneously and randomly. The line of code that was active could be anything. Apparently the problem was caused by moving some macros from one module to another. Somehow this threw off Excel's pointers to where the macros were stored and caused unstable results. The solution was to save the macros to another location (I copied them into notepad), delete the VBA module that contained them, close the Excel file, re-open the file, add a new module, and copy the code back in. |
